The puja ceremonies of the Yamunotri Temple are very old and holy. The priests do Mangala Aarti in the morning and Shayan Aarti in the evening. The temple committee can help anyone who wants to do their own poojas or join aartis. People pray at Divya Shila, a holy rock near Surya Kund, before going into the temple. They also make prasad at Surya Kund by putting grains and potatoes wrapped in muslin fabric in hot water. Then, Goddess Yamuna takes them. The primary god in the shrine is a statue of the goddess made of black marble. People who travel on pilgrimages pray for a long, healthy life, do abhishek, and bring flowers and sweets. People pray and celebrate at the Kharsali Temple. The idol is taken there in the winter while the temple is closed. On the first day, Akshaya Tritiya, and the last day, Bhai Dooj, there are also special poojas with traditional music and local celebrations. Yamunotri Pooja is more than just a religious function; it's a deep spiritual event that connects people with the Himalayas' divine power.
