Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami initiated the winter yatra, and now Prime Minister Modi is coming to further promote it. According to sources, the Prime Minister will visit Mukhaba village, the winter residence of Gangotri Dham, on February 5. He will offer prayers at the temple of Maa Ganga in Mukhaba and interact with the local community and priests. The PM is also expected to address a public meeting in Harshil. This visit is seen as a significant boost for the winter Chardham Yatra, particularly in terms of tourism. Special preparations are underway in Mukhaba, the winter worship site of Maa Ganga. This will be the first time a Prime Minister visits Gangotri Dham during the winter season.

Impact on Tourism and Worship Prime Minister Modis visit is being viewed as a major boost for the winter Chardham Yatra. Wherever the Prime Minister has visited in Devbhoomi, statistics show a surge in tourists and devotees from across the country and the world. Be it his visits to Kedarnath, Badrinath, or Adi Kailash in Pithoragarh, the impact has been significant. The doors of all four Dhams are located in the high Himalayan regions. Due to heavy snowfall during winters, the doors of the Dhams are traditionally closed. The palanquins of the Dhams are brought to winter camps in the lower regions, where worship continues for six months. In winter, Yamunotri Dham is worshipped in Kharsali village, Gangotri Dham in Mukhaba, Kedarnath Dham in Ukhimath, and Badrinath Dham in Jyotirmath. During the winter Chardham Yatra, devotees visit these winter stops for darshan. It is believed that in these holy Dhams, Narasimhas worship them for six months in summer and Narayanas for six months in winter. Devotees will have the opportunity to visit these sacred places during the winter season.
