For the Char Dham Yatra 2025, new measures have been put in place to manage the expected large number of pilgrims and ensure their safety:

1. Registration Requirement: All pilgrims must complete registration before starting the journey.
2. Guidelines for Visitors: Due to the anticipated high number of visitors, strict guidelines have been put in place.
3. Entry Restrictions: Only those who have registered will be allowed to enter any of the Char Dham sites or areas in Uttarakhand.
4. Online Registration: Pilgrims can complete their registration online through the Dehradun Smart City Portal.
5. In-Person Registration: For those who prefer to register in person, there are registration centers available along the Char Dham route.
6. Entry Policy: Access to the holy sites is limited to those who have completed the registration process.
7. Vaccination Proof: Pilgrims who have received both doses of the COVID vaccine must show their vaccination certificate if asked.
8. RT-PCR Test Requirement: Pilgrims who are not vaccinated need to provide an RT-PCR test report taken within 72 hours before starting their journey.
9. COVID Protocol: Any pilgrim found to be COVID positive during the journey will need to return for further medical evaluation.
10. Kedarnath Temple Guidelines: This year, applying tika (sacred mark) on the forehead and offering Prasad (holy food) are prohibited in the Kedarnath Temple courtyard.
11. Prohibited actions: Touching idols, religious books or bells in the courtyard of the four temples is not allowed under the new guidelines.
